After some World War II books and Spook Country (good, but i prefered Pattern Recognition), began reading The Night Sessions, by Ken Macleod, won here in this forum. So far, so good!!!

I thought that there was some sort of explosive material in the crates Zellaby took up to the Childrens school, and triggered it some how when they all settled to watch the video. Not sure how the Children couldn't see the plan in his mind and stop it though, don't think that was explained in the book.

I haven't heard of that one, so I will look out for it, thanks. Did he write many more under that name?

Recenlty brought Chocky, have you read that one?

Murder of Angels by Caitlin R. Kiernan. I loved Silk, which this is the sequel to, and I'm glad to say that, despite my favourite character from the first book not really being present*, I'm loving this one, too.

I did know of the movie but I didn't know until quite recently that is was based on the book by John Wyndam. I hope too see it soon.
Day of the Triffids is currently showing on a Sunday night on BBC 4, never seen it before so I'm giving that a go. The book was brillaint though, still my favourite of his books.

They've done the first two episodes, I think there are four left. I believe it's starts at 7, and goes on 'til 8 (but check because I'm probably wrong). The episodes are half an hour each.

The special effects aren't great, but I thought the menace of the books was carried over to the show quite well. '80s fashion isn't great though

EDIT: Just checked the Radio Times and it does start at 7.
