Also Secret Circle has been cancelled:
http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...season/133686/ Probably want to keep it for syndication purposes (plus they know they can't do any worse on Fridays). |

NBC...WHAT THE?!?!?!
Prehaps one of the biggest shockers of Friday was the cancellation of Harry's Law. Yes the River was finally confirmed as cancelled as was PAN AM but Harry's Law?!?!?Granted the tale of a sixty something lawyer working out of a shoe shop does not sound hard hitting but the show was doing well picking up older audience members and was NBC's second highest rated drama.NBC Basically cancelled their second most popular show on the network. This kind of decision making goes some way in explaining why NBC is trailing in the ratings. |

Annoying that old skewed shows can't operate easily but thats the way of US TV advertising. |

On Harrys law..Deadline published a interesting comment on the audience figures which NBC Kinda said in a roundabout way that they really only are interested in an audience under fifty.
A Gifted Man the story of a surgeon who can communicate witht the dead also got cancelled but what's interesting is it's stars comments in which he tweeted that he was informed that the show was gone by email but was quite happy as it "Wasn't the same show I signed on for." It's been reported that CSI Miami's cancellation was down to the fact that of the two spinoffs ,due to location costs it was the more expensive of the two shows. Touch has been moved to the Friday night death slot alongside Fringe ( It looks like they have little faith this show is going to make a third season.) NBC have commented on Thirty Rock , Community and the Office and said that none of these shows are being consisdered in their final seasons....(even though last week everyone involved announced that the next season of thirty rock is going to be it's last) However the network admitted that Dan Harmon will be changing his role in the running of Community from showrunner to consultant...(Basically Harmon has been politely removed from his show after the ridiculous public fall out with Chevy Chase.) NBC The network that keeps on giving
After announcing yesterday that no decisions had been made on the fate on the Office, Community and Thirty Rock, NBC had to announce "Oh yeah , the next season of thirty rock will be the last!" this could be because everyone involved with the show said last week that it was finishing. NBC's President has called the ability of the dish network subscribers to skip advertising as Insulting and has admitted that the Nielsens need to become more accurate and take tivo and internet viewing figures into consideration. And after NBC cancelled the American version of Who you think you are (Which somehow managed to be much duller than the BBC'S) Ancestry.com shares ( the company linked with the show ) Have plummeted on wall street losing 13% of their value in a matter of hours. |

If you watch the proper US broadcasts (not the adapted British ones) it's awful because they try so hard to make it exciting and over the top. I like the British version but it is not meant to be exciting, less an Irish Coffee more like a nice cup of tea.

I'm not being critical of the Beeb here ...they're who do you think you are can be funny (Julian Clary discovering his family were German) Mysterious (Vic Reeves) to deeply moving (Jerry Springers family in the Holocaust) whereas the U.S version seemed to always have to have the subject having a moving ephiany usually in front of a grave and "Understanding" their distant relatives a bit better.
