What you do when you work or meet with some really dim people who are always, and I mean always, say really stupid stuff? Like not knowing that Titanic was real life, or that swans are birds (they go in the water she said) or that the International space station is not just an Imax film. I just had to re-write some one elses report as they thought that human cloning happens right now! I seems to be beating my head against wall wen dealing with these people, but if you poiny out they're uninformed your picking on them! You can't seem to win.

If I see someone with loads of views (usually uttered in a small amount of time) but suspect they're not their genuine beliefs possibly said to perhaps we could say troll for an argument I suggest we ignore them and move on - they're sad really.

Now now, Runalong. We've all been down this road before. It's easy to assume that a sudden flurry of activity marked by a series of contentious posts is an indication of serial trollery, or even of a previously observed troll assuming a new nom de plume - but we should always be courteous and give them the benefit of the doubt, at least in the first instance.

Matescallmekat may be...ahem...howling at the moon, or he may be sincere. Time will tell.

Comparison of IP codes, etc may give us a chance to check out the real identities of suspected trolls - in which case the Hangman goes hackitty-hack with his Mod-chopper (what with multiple accounts being against our rules, and all). Time will tell.

So, please, play nice everyone. And if you suspect trollery - Do Not Feed. Until then, the benefit of the doubt is given.

In some way surely its better to try and correct the uninformed politely and privately before they make an idiot of themselves in public, their lookout of they take it as picking on you provided you're just trying to help.
