Dependent 'pon the results of the sheffield meet thread this may well become redundant but I shall give it a try anyways ^_~

My home city's dearth of peeps likely to want to go see the new Avengers film with me and the fact that the southern types and scottishypeeps regularly flaunt their local mini-meets on this here forum has inspired me to attempt a similar gathering of those geeks bless'd enough to dwell within God's Own County™ (and, of course, further afield should they be willing to travel) with the central event being a viewing of the aforementioned movie goodness ^_^

As for location, I would propose Leeds for being both suitably central and home of a branch of Forbidden Planet plus a few other appropriately geeky venues.

'tis pretty short notice, given the launch date of the film (presuming we would want to see it at the earliest opportunity), but would anybody be interested enough to make discussion of potential dates worthwhile? Throw your flat cap in the ring here ^.~

What date were you thinking, the Saturday after it comes out? I could go for that I think depending on times.

yay! we has a vict- um... volunteer! ^.^ The saturday doth indeedy seem a fine time for such an event ^_^ I knows of a cinema in The Light - be there any others in the centre of Leeds? I shall look into times

Nah, just The Light I'm afraid. There will be one in that new shopping centre they're building behind Marks and Spencers, but as that's not open until next year it's not much help!

There's a Steampunk Exhibition in Bradford? Really? I'm not really into Steampunk and I'm not very familiar with Bradford (Leeds is easier to get to from where I live so I tend to go there) but if it's free I'll tag along. I do know there's a cinema in Bradford by the media museum.
