Oooh, I guess that's all still a bit raw with me then...
He does this Lucas, I bought the Star Wars encyclopaedia years and years ago, pre-prequels. The sod changed so much it irritated me. In that book, it stated that the Lars were Obi Wan’s family! I think as fans of the Universe, maybe we should draw the line in our own acceptance of the cannon. By that waffle, I mean, for me I totally ignore and don’t watch the Clone Wars CGI series, for me its Clone Wars Cartoon that I accept, likewise, I’m ignoring the BluRay Star Wars tweaking.. Lucas can sod off.
I wash my hands.. I wash MY HANDS…

Sorry, got really het up then.

HA! ... Yeah...

Look how crap Ewan is in them, and the guy is a phenomenal actor normally.

Natalie Portman, who had already proven her acting chops in Leon, and went on to be nommed for an Oscar, gives a performance as stiff as her costumes in TPM. Even Liam Neeson, a highly reliable actor in everything I've seen him in, looks bored litshess.

Heh. Very true, but it might have helped make some of TPM slightly less cringeworthy.

Not even Harrison Ford could keep up the good fight for long, by the time of "Return of the Jedi", Harrison was more wooden than the Millennium Falcon set.

George isn't great with actors, and with something as abstract as filming Star Wars movies (before you add in effects, music, sound, all that stuff) I imagine it's difficult for an actor to find the right tone for scenes.

Being surrounded by massive amounts of green screen probably doesn't inspire you much either

Do you really think so?? I don't think I have issues with any of the acting in the OT and I don't remember hearing anyone else say they do either so that's quite surprising?

Yeah something else which stuck out for me watching the extras was how nearly everyone commented on how hard it was to act against a lot of green screens, which is practically all they seemed to be doing.

Watching Empire and Jedi back to back I was struck by how bored Ford seemed during Jedi, and how flat some of his dialog felt, it was kinda disappointing in a ways.

I actually assumed everyone felt the same, no?

I agree, compared to Star Wars and Empire, Han in Jedi is a man diminished.

I always blamed a crisis of confidence/personality after being frozen in carbonite. But that could be making excuses.

Especially when you see his scenes with Leia in Jedi.

I'm still in love with The Clone Wars. I've also got a thing for CGI Padme. How wrong is this?
