Heh. Good question (both of them ) I'm not sure that it should or it shouldn't. You have Yoda explain to Obi Wan that it was the will of the Force. That the Jedi had to be culled for the ultimate good of the universe. That the galaxy needs the Jedi gone and it needs the bloated effectual government it works for gone too. Make him clear in saying that he had no choice. That is is what the "bringing balance" prophecy is all about. You make him as much a pawn in the events as everybody else. You just make him know what's happening and have him accept that it had to happen and guide events a little. I know what you mean though. I t would colour the way you look at him in the OT. But then the PT already makes certain OT things a bit crapper if you let it. But handled right it could make Yoda a really sad, troubled, yet more noble character. And he does seem a bit like that already in ESB.
I'm not saying that Lucas should have made Yoda a bit of a bad guy. Just that he should have done something unexpected. Because as it is the PT are just boring. There's no twists or turns, no big reveals. No "I'm your father" moments. I'm not saying it's the best idea, just that it would be something twisty that we weren't expecting and the PT really needs something like that.
And the reason I came up with the Yoda idea is that it links a whole bunch of odd plot errors and makes them kind of make a bit more sense. As I said:

Obi Wan Kenobi who just got made Jedi Knight himself ten minutes ago is given the task of training this possiblt really really important boy.
Yoda's obvious suspicions of Palpatine that come to nothing. The general ineffectiveness of the Jedi.
The fact that in the ten years between TPM and ATOC the Jedi have found no sign of the Sith. The fact the Jedi do nothing to help Anakin's mother issues. The conversation about the Jedi becoming arrogant. Yoda basically starting the Clone Wars by taking the army to Geonosis. Yoda's crap advice to Anakin when Anakin asks for help. Yoda's giving up in his fight with Palpatine way too easy. And running off into exile at the drop of a hat. There's plenty of little things that could all point towards Yoda helping things along. All these little plot oddities could be married together to make it all part of Yoda's plan.
All these things would now make a bit of sense. Add to all that the fact that Yoda managed to be offplanet during Order 66, the fact that nobody ever questioned the creation of the Clone Army and how convenient it was and the fact that he heard Qui Gon through the Force in ATOC but told no one and you have the makings of a Yoda knows what's happening conspiracy...

At least if you make Yoda more involved and aware of what's happening then he and the Jedi don't look quite as shite as they do now. Yoda the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy and him and the rest of the Jedi just sit on their collective arses discussing shite. At least if Yoda was manipulating things then there'd be a reason for all the crap or stupid things that the Jedi do.

And it might explain how Yoda is the only one who knows he is about to be attacked by his clones, whereas everyone else just stands by and gets shot in the back.

Even Obi Wan only survived because he was too far away for a clear shot.

She wasn't a slave for the whole 10 years though was she? Didn't Owen's uncle (or some relation) free her and marry her before the Sandmen took her? Isn't that why Luke calls Owen "Uncle"?

Yeah. More things that would fit the Yoda knows what's happening idea.

But Anakin didn't know that. As far as he knows she's still a slave who works for and belongs to Watto. That's why he goes to Watto first to locate her in ATOC. It's then that he finds out that somebody (Cliegg Lars) bought her freedom.

And that just brings up another question, why does anybody need slaves in a galaxy that have droids?

Hehe, good point. Maybe people are cheaper? Plenty of people out there all they need is food and water and shelter. A droid would need power and oil and stuff too... But I bet a broken droid is harder to replace if it breaks than just getting a new slave...

C-3PO gets dismantled on several occasion and gets put together again with no problem. That's not something you can do with a human. If you remove the head of human he dies, if you remove the head of a droid it's just a minor inconvenience.

True, but mainly by Chewbacca who has mechanic skills. I doubt everybody has the same skills. But you still have a very good point. I have no idea why they have slaves in a world where droids are so prevalent. Maybe some people are just cruel. Maybe human (or alien) slaves are just a sign of station or wealth in the SW universe.

EDIT: On further thought the whole idea of slaves in the PT makes no sense. There's no reason that Anakin and Shmi are slaves. Qui Gon gets Anakin released with a flick of the Force. And Anakin could quite easily have left with the Jedi without Shmi needing to be a slave, just say that to train the boy he needs to sever all family ties.. The whole missing his mother thing could just come about from being taken and trained by the Jedi. When Anakin finally goes off in search of his mother, bang, she's been bought and freed in the intervening years so it's not even as though her being a slave was a difficult plot point to overcome...
