Student becomes new police chief in Mexican townMarisol Valles, 20, who is studying criminology, has yet to make an arrest but is being called Mexico's bravest woman.
Brave, indeed, and i hope she can see out her term of office.

RIP Bob Guccione
A lot of men growing up between the 70's & 90's owe him a debt of gratitude. I don't expect every fella who reads this to agree, but i do owe him one. So there!

Similar things went on in Vietnam under American supervision.

Part of me is thinking "good", and part of me is all flashing lights and sirens dialed up to 11 on the 'What the F**k-o-meter'.
Everyone knows not to feed the trolls, but maybe jailing them is giving them a surfeit of attention, which will kill them off.(as an internet presence, not a meat one.)

Sorry if this is inelegantly phrased, but I've just woken up after yet another 45 minute night sleep. God I'm so tired.

It's one thing to make tasteless comments to your friends, but quite another to deliberately harass bereaved relatives for your own pleasure. I'm glad he was punished under the law. I'm not so sure I agree with the general concept of a broad 'malicious communications' law, but I'm glad that there's something in place to shut up people whose attitude is essentially 'stop complaining, it's the internet'.

There's trolling and trolling, and posting messages on mourning pages about how you've had sex with the deceased's body is definitely at the end where you deserve something nasty and legal happening to you IRL.
