We need to be conscious of illegal content on here. We know that when it comes to watching anime there are a lot of grey areas, but for the sake of simplicity we simply ask that people do not make posts about the following:

1. Bootlegs. These are totally illegal, they infringe on copyright and as well as being an inferior product, the money generated from their sale often goes towards funding other criminal activities. Please do not advise others to buy bootlegs or provide links to sites where they can do this.

2. Downloads. Yeah, fansubs are a grey area. We know. It doesn't matter. Fansubs are still an infringement of copyright and we can't encourage it. As with bootlegs, do not post links to download sites or encourage others to download, especially with titles that have been licensed in the US or the UK. And yes, this includes giving the names of fansub groups in threads.

Any posts violating these rules will be edited with a warning or be deleted altogether. Note, however, that we don't disallow discussion of anime series which haven't been released in the West yet. We just don't want to know how you got them, OK?
