Green Lantern (obviously I have a bit of a thing about green-based superheroes at the moment). Main thought while watching it: "wow, how much money did they blow on this thing?" 5/10

Fright Night. The new one. Haven't seen the original so I came to the story "cold" as they say ("they" being the people who use the word "cold" as a metaphor for experiencing something for the first time. Just thought I'd clear that up, so as to reduce confusion).

I rather liked it. Best bit was undoubtedly witnessing the 10th Doctor say f***, and scratch his balls. I kind of wish he'd done that in the series. Also, Imogen Poots, despite having a name she should never forgive her parents for, has eyes composed of the purest sexy. Overall, 6.5/10

Southland Tales. "Written" and "directed" by Richard Kelly and "starring" Sarah Michelle Gellar and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. After the fantastic Donnie Darko I was very much looking forward to seeing this, after watching it however, I am now very much looking forward to some form of memory loss in order to erase this horrible, horrible mess of a movie from my mind. 0/5.

Drive. Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. I absolutley love this film. It starts off very quiet and understated before exploding into bloody, brutal violence. 5/5

Met up with some mates and watched a numbr of films yesterday:

The Wedding Singer - 7.5/10 - not as funny as I remember but still good
Big Nothing- 7/10 - Okay and weird but I had hoped for more with Simon Pegg in it.
District 9- 9.5/10 - Absolutely brilliant intelligent science fiction. Have a few niggles but on the whole, brilliant.

Snow White and the Huntsman. Surprisingly good, really liked the darker grittier take on the fairytale, Chris Hemsworth was yummy and Charlize Theron pretty much stole the show as the evil Queen. I don't like to jump on the Kristen Stewart haters bandwagon but even my mum said she was a bit bland. To be fair I suppose the character of Snow White is always more of a foil for the other characters, but given that in this version she's meant to be a bit kick ass it would have been nice if she'd moved her facial muscles around a bit. I also felt it was a bit let down by a rather strange non-ending. But still a very enjoyable take on the story.

Super 8 Pretty Good. 4 out of 5
Watched it over the bank holiday weekend.
Can't believe I didn;t see it at the cinema as I really enjoyed the film.
It had great casting and a superb plot.
