Simon Armstrong cast as Qhorin Halfhand

With filming now wrapped in Croatia, and due to wrap in Northern Ireland sometime next week, attention now turns to Iceland - and events beyond the Wall.
Over on Winter Is Coming they have posted some casting news - horses & a band of Viking re-enactment folk hinted to be Rattleshirt's band of Wildlings (so that means we will get the Lord of Bones). Also WiC along with Westeros have uncovered a tweet by an Icelandic actor who they believe to be a possible for Mance Rayder. He has also commented that his casting is for the next 2 seasons.... Might be speculation, but rumours have surfaced that HBO are considering greenlighting S3 & 4 to be filmed back to back in a year long shoot. Interesting if this all pans out.

The first S2 preview will be screened tonight in the US before Boardwalk Empire, it will no doubt turn up all over the net, but you can see it HERE after it is screened.

S2 in production video with some glimpses of new characters Stannis Baratheon, Davos Seaworth and Margery Tyrell.
Hopefully we'll get the hinted at trailer next month after the Boardwalk Empire finale.

Winter Is Coming & Westeros uncover Icelandic site visit video
This maybe region restricted but seems to be OK in the UK (I've managed to watch it anyway), a lot it is in Icelandic but the interviews with the writers is in English. Also top marks to anyone who spots the massive spoiler DB Weiss lets slip.

Quote:
Sounds like they're going to take a more Walking Dead approach and use the books as a foundation rather than a rule. Which could be grand.
