Star Trek: Friday's Child.
Got to love an episode which contains the following: McCoy: I'm a Doctor, not a escalator! And Kirk: How did you arrange to touch her, Bones, a happy pill? McCoy: No, a right cross. Kirk: Never seen that in a medical book. McCoy: It's in mine from now on. |

Smallville - Collatarel 1/10. Reminded me of exactly why I stopped watching it regularly during Season 9. Gets one extra point because Deadshot is awesome!

Ultimate Spider-Man - "Great Power"
Woo! I was casually browsing on saturday afternoon and then noticed that they were showing the first episode on Disney XD! (The series properly starts on thursday) Slightly predictable (being that it's an introductory episode), but still immensely entertaining Spider-fare. Great animation, funny (if the humour was a little heavy-handed), and very well-designed characters. Great villain foreshadowing as well. Gonna give it a few episodes until I start comparing it to what was in my opinion the absolute zenith of screen Spidey, Spectacular Spider-Man, but what I've seen so far has been an absolute hoot. |

I've watched that Spider-man episode half a dozen times. It's all my kid will watch at the moment. He doesn't understand why they're just showing the same episode over and over... but it doesn't bother him that much. Kids tend to enjoy repitition. New episodes can't come soon enough.
Beyond that... catching up on Fringe, watching the last few episodes of the current season. They've been pretty good.

Yeah, I grew up on the '90s series as well, and while I have fond memories of watching it, it really doesn't hold up, I'm sad to say. Especially after reading the comics, there are some frankly bizarre and insulting design choices (suckers on Morbius's hands? WTF?), Spidey never really "fights"; he just... swings into baddies or trips them up with his webs; and the pacing of most episodes is all over the place.

Hee! I was afraid I'd insulted you after posting that rather harsh retrospective :P If you really dig Spidey, I'd heartily recommend that you check out 2008's short-lived Spectacular Spidey show; it's easily my favourite screen iteration of ol' Webhead.
