Teething powders really did the trick for us. We found coating the dummy in them and then letting them grind it into the offending gums etc themselves worked really well.
Other than that, as the others have said, worship at the alter of the almighty Calpol, as it helped on the really bad ones when they got temperatures, colds and general additional "Bluergh!" with it as well. |

Another one for the Teething powders, although it goes against my ethics to use Homeopathic quackery the dilution on those powders is above the mole limit so you actually get active ingredient. At least both me and a homeopath would agree its a very weak mixture, although they would bizzarly suggest diluting it further to increase strength. (End of rant)
It coudl have just been a placebo effect, we tried teething gel but freya tended to lick it off her gums before it could take effect, don't blame her, bonjela is tasty. Mmmmmm

We found that Bonjela was useless, but Dentinox or Calgel worked better as they actually contain Antiseptic and anaesthetic.

I was informed by the wife that Amy didn't need teething gell of any kind, just Calpol if she needed it. I know some of you will have been on the receiving end of a very sharp baby bite. Its worse when they get you on the nail

Ouch!
Watch out for flailing fingers as well. Last year Harry caught Neil in the eye and scratched his cornea. Cue trip to A&E, heavy-duty opiate-based painkillers, and recurrent eye pain for months afterwards – Neil would literally wake up in the night almost screaming in pain, feeling like someone was poking him in the eye with needles.

Eeee, sounds nasty, think me wearing glasses has been a definite plus, ready installed safety goggles. Of course now Freya steals them and laughs at me

Oh yes, Harry does that with mine too. He's broken two pairs, luckily I buy very cheap ones!

Can that happen, can we get a baby dragon, that would be cool.
i mean i'll be thrilled with a normal human baby, but a dragon is, well a dragon.
