I imagine it'll be the same thing here in Lancaster.

I moaned about this elsewhere on these forums -- I wish the stock in these national chains was the same in every shop! Does anyone know why it isn't?

(In fact, it was in the "Marvel Book Bargain" thread, and it was again about the wonderful "Works" in Wolverhampton! Man, I dream about being able to pick up graphic novels cheap because -- although I will still buy them "full price" -- it must be nice to be able to pick up some bargains).
jam - I'm with you on that. I'm in Lancaster as well and whenever something is mentioned about a great bargain in The Works I rush there on my lunch hour only to come back to work deflated.

Luckily for me First Age comics is a godsend.

maybe a retitling of this thread to generic "Graphic Novel bargains" would be a good idea?

Amazon UK currently has Seven Soldiers of Victory v1, 3 & 4 and Batman and the Mad Monk for apprx £3 each.

I should mention to any West Midlanders on the forum Reader's World in Brum. It's cramped and smelly but there's always loads of bargains in there.

Digbeth Street/Road. Behind the Bullring - two minutes walk.

Come out the bottom level of the Bullring (where there's the steps/fountain facing the church); down the ramp to the left side of the church; cross the road (two crossings together) and it's right in front of you.

There's a load of comics & GNs at the front of the shop and there's also a backroom with a load more backissues and old annuals and stuff.

Like I say it's cramped and smelly but pretty cheap.

I managed to locate a copy of Watchmen for £4.50! It was a Waterstones clearout sale and I managed to shave some money off the price by pointing out the small wear and tear from customer handling. Best £5 I ever saved!

Not sure if anyone would be interested but there is a copy of The Official Batman Bat-book going on ebay at the moment. No bids on it as yet and may be worth a bit of a peek if interested.
