Read up to and including the Mignola interview, and it's a good issue so far. I also feel like there's more of a personality to it now, largely due to the letters page giving the chance for staff feedback that we didn't get in the debut. One question though, Jes: there's a news piece on the Batman: Under the Red Hood DVD. As far as I know, this isn't getting a release over here, so why cover it? Or do you know something we don't?

A good interview with Alan Moore, though I personally thought he came over as a bit of a cock. For example: he dismisses modern comics as rubbish then admits to not actually reading them! There are some incredible non superhero comics about from the last 10 years.

Okay, so he has been poorly treated, but he is stuck in a world of doing things for the sake of prinicple, looking down on everyone else from his moral high point. He says comics and movies are ruined because everyone involved started off as fans, then says he started the same. He seems to think he is the only person who could ever get over that, the egocentric twit.

Big fan of his writing (up to about 10 years ago), and I must say his current and future vanity projects seem very yawnsome from the descriptions.

Alan Moore created some of the best characters and stories in comics, and no doubt inspired many of the creators he so flippantly dismisses in his unfounded generalities. Time to let him just get on with whatever he wants, so we can get on with enjoying comics.

I enjoyed the Nemesis The Warlock retrospective! I've heard of the character, yet I know next to nothing about him, so that was insightful. As was the Judge Minty article and the second half of the Writing For Comics thing!

Also anyone know whether we can post Comic Club thoughts? up here or should I email in?

This was a very enjoyable magazine, much better than the first issue, with a good broad range of content. The Alan Moore interview was a fascinating read - it's a real shame that someone who's written some of the finest comics of all time is now so bitter about the whole industry. I really liked the article about British humour comics as well - I'd like to see a whole feature about Oink! in a future issue, I used to love that.

The Sidekick sampler mag was a great idea, with an impressive mixture of styles represented, from the stunning-looking American Reaper to the retro-but-hilarious Poo-Twah! Someone should give Alan Moore a copy, to show him that modern comics still have a lot to offer.

One question, though, what happened to the "Guide to the Marvel Universe" feature? Not in this issue, or listed for issue three either, has it been shelved for good?

Hey Holden
Thanks for the kind words - I tried to incorporate some of the feedback we had on issue one (in particular the emphasis on movie features, which many felt they could get elsewhere). I'm chuffed you mentioned Chris Wisnia's strip from Sidekick too, I really think we've got a great forum for delivering a wide range of material here, and show that not all comics are about superheroes.
On a personal note, I'm so happy that Lew Stringer penned that humour comics feature for us. Brilliant!
Anyhoo - as for the Marvel universe feature, it didn't make it in simply because we had so much other stuff. I'm looking at getting something in for issue 3, so fingers crossed...
Cheers
Jes

Great mag! Spent about 2 hours reading it yesterday and still have stuff to read - lots and lots of reading there and lots of variety! Special mention for Sidekick which is a really great idea very well executed.
