I saw this on the news last night.
Hi tech device to help paraplegics walk watch the video to see it in action. Apparently its appeared in an episode of Glee. At $100,000 its expensive but I'm guessing people in that situation would pay anything. Looks combersome I know but I'm betting if it takes on it'll be improved and made more light weight.

This is very promising, sure its expensive and bulky now, but, with the will behind it the tech will be refined and become smaller and with any luck cheaper. Good work science

That’s great. It was interesting to see the quote from the man about being able to look people in the eye again. We all know about the physical difficulties faced by wheelchair users but that wasn’t something I’d thought about before. I hope they can make a go of it.

Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space fifty years ago today. Here's an article which celebrates his achievement while taking the time to tell us how a space faring tradition began thanks to a sorry lack of portaloos by the launch pad.

HR Geiger's design for the Alien remains one of the most terrifying creations on screen but one thing about it always bugged me as being a bit silly: that second toothed jaw that extends from its mouth was clearly there only added for shock effect...
![]() But it turns out nature got there first. The moray eel sports a second pair of choppers to grab prey once in the mouth and pull it along its elongated body towards the stomach. Nasty.

Shuttle crew Endeavour to emulate Enterprise counterparts. Actually, the guy in front looks like Locke from Lost.
