Didn't know where else to put this but Nick? Yes you, Nick Setchfield, you owe me a "thank you". I'm the barman from the Crystal Palace who found your Future ID passcard thingy and gave it back to you last year. You were in a bit of a rush as I recall though, so I'll let you off.

Crystal Palace barman, eh? So does this mean if SFX piles up there en masse it'll be cheap drinks all round!

Hi,

An SFX forum! Coolness.

I'm Heather (shocker I know), I also answer to Heatherbelles, H, or HB on the internet thingy.

I'm in Nottingham, and have been reading SFX for years. I think I started reading it at Uni in Aberystwyth, (Yikes, I left there 5 years ago now), and was reading every month by the time I came back. In fact, one of the first things I did with my first paycheque from the job I (eventually) got back in Nottingham was to buy my ticket(and book a room) for the very first SFX con in the Norbreck. Good times

I like Sci-Fi and Fantasy, books tv and film. I like Spooks too (but that isn't Sci-fi really)

I like History and heritage too. It's not unheard of me to switch from one to the other when I'm reading/watching TV. Funnily enough, its books set in the 'now' I don't tend to bother with! Unless its an alternative sort of a now.

I'm currently working in a call centre 4 years later (really not as bad as you think, well mostly), having spent the last two of them also studying for a PG Dip in heritage management. Suppose I should look for a proper job now.

Now that I've burbled on for ages, I suppose I should stop. And maybe say "Hello everyone"

Alas, I no longer work there. I left to be assistant manager at the Hobgoblin. However I lost that job and am now resident in Bournemouth. You missed your window of opportunity I'm afraid.

I remember! I also remember being quite freaked that you knew who I was! Thanks again - you were a lifesaver.

Hello, I'm Sudhakar. I've been getting SFX for a few years now. You might know me from some of my letters.
I like SF, fantasy and some horror.
Faves include Arthur c. Clarke, Julian May, Poul Anderson.
Sorry can't pin down my tastes more than that, I like so many things.
Was thrilled to discover this forum existed.

Only just discovered the new forum (been on hols and offline for a couple of weeks)

My real name is Pete MacKenzie (Yes, that one. I'll stop writing letters when Dave stops publishing them!). I'm recently 32, originally from the back of beyond in the North of Scotland, now living and working in London these past five years.

"Cuilean" (long story, old nickname) is my internet presence in most forums/chatrooms so if you know me from elsewhere, sorry

Been reading SFX religiously since issue 17-ish.

Fave Film... Still Star Wars (ANH, obviously), though Serenity almost edging it out

Fave TV... Doctor Who really impressed me this year. Loved DS9. Haven't even tried to get into Lost I'm afraid, can never guarantee seeing every episode as I work shifts

Fave Books... Still like Pratchett, though prefer his earlier stuff. Only recently discovered Stephen Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant and they'e fantastic
