If you ever struggle to get a colour scheme together then try one of these sites:

Thanks for the links.

I've done some more drawings:

Slick Demon
BOOM, Headshot! (*warning: violence*)
Manga Characters

I like the eyes that float above the manga characters.

Do you think I'm progressing as an artist?

You can't tell over a matter of weeks; it's more like years... Certainly you are trying new subjects and doing plenty of it which means you will progress in the future and I bet your work looks better than it did 2 years ago eh? So you must be progressing as an artist!

Drawing manga though - I'd personally stay away from simply 'cos so many people are doing it. It's deceptively difficult to do well too.

Here's some more I've fired out in recent days:

Time War Dalek
Starfleet Infantryman
Me (self-portrait; a bit too long in the face)
Molly Millions

I'm working towards inking and digital colouring, and it's as good a time as any to go back to painting.

Hi Big Orange... I must say it takes a bit of guts to keep posting like this, well done!

I'd only make a couple of suggestions which may help...

One thing I've noticed is a slight 'elongation' in your drawings. Now that may be down to something as simple as adjusting your drawing position so that your pad/paper is viewed more straight on when you begin constructing your layout.

I like the self portrait!

PS Feel free to ignore me, I'm not having a dig or anything!

OK guys, I've finally got back to doing paintings again, which I've neglected for over two years. Expect photos of my work by the end of the week. Sketching is easier to get round to than painting (which needs more equipment and is harder to master). I see we've got a experienced painter already (the guy/gal responsible for that woman in the pretty dress).

Well I've finally got my hands on a delicious new Intuos4, and it's ace. The texture of the drawing area is a bit spongier, and people are complaining that the added friction is wearing out their nibs a lot quicker, but it's not like you can't replace it. It's far lighter and thinner than the Intuos3, has a larger active area, and (and this is way more huge than it sounds) has a detachable usb lead. You have no idea (or maybe you do) how much hassle it is to have a usb lead which is moulded to a peripheral. I've had to have my old Intuos3 repaired twice in almost as many years, because every time you pick the thing up or lay it on your lap, the wire will squish and bend against whatever it is leaning on, and the amount of times I had the thing on my lap, it was sure to break, and break it did.

I've also treated myself with a cute little laptop desk which slides back and forth up to my couch, so not only do my legs remain unscorched from my laptop when I'm drawing, I can prop the tablet 45º against the front of the desk, so that I'm not hunched over it like a lemon. I should've got this ages ago.
