Just downloaded Scott Pilgrim. I would suggest anyone over 20 to check this out immediately, it's an unashamedly faithful throwback to '90s 16-bit screenscrolling beat-em-ups, and has one of the best game soundtracks I've ever heard. That I've just finished reading the comics makes the experience all the more wonderful -- the game throws in so many little nods and cameos, it's so lovingly produced, and tailor-made for generation X-ers, best £7.99 I've spent all year.

Totally agree, although I've only played the trial version as of yet but it totally taken me back to my 16-bit days. *sigh*

Anyhoo, I've taken a bit of a break from the World of Warcraft (not played it for a whole week, impressive huh?) and have been playing some 'Bayonetta' which is surely one of the most bonkers games ever made. But utterly excellent.

It's utterly fantastic -- I'd say it was the latter-day equivalent of a sidescrolling beat-em-up, as you can just pick it up, check your brain at the door and immerse yourself in the silliness of it all.

Trying to finish a few slightly pooish games, so I can trade them in....so CSI: Deadly Intent (which is actually alright, I'm just sick of seeing it on my shelf).

Probably do a bit of Rock Band 2/Band Hero a bit later, but because I actually love them.

I'm kinda the same, but not so much cuz they're poo, I just don't like leaving games unfinished -- especially ones with an epic story that needs to be followed intently like a novel/TV show. RPGs especially, as they require so much devotion and if you leave one for more than a few weeks, you'll return to it and not have a clue what's going on or where to go. That's why I like DQIX's feature where you press B, and a screen pops up with a "Previously on..." catchup message.

Totally! I've got loads of RPGs I've restarted over and over without actually finishing because of that exact reason. It took me seven years to finish Final Fantasy VII, because I kept drifting away, forgetting what had happened in the story and restarting from the beginning. =/

I'm thinking if I complete and offload a few "distractions" I've got sitting around (like CSI and a few other "simple" games), I might actually convince myself to concentrate on finishing some of my RPG backlog. Final Fantasy VIII maybe...

The DQIX thing sounds pretty cool..been meaning to buy the game for a while now, but I just haven't got around to it!
