Not sure if this is the right place to post this, or if it's already been mentioned, but I was browsing Netflix last night and they've got classic Doctor Who episodes from the 1st and 2nd Doctor available for viewing

Just finished watching the second Doctor story The Dominators. Quite a good story about a peaceful planet being attacked by hostile outsiders. Slightly let down by some frankly rubbish robots, but otherwise moves along at a good pace.

The Trial of a Time Lord:
Included in the Ultimate Foe disc is the Open Air programme shown not long after The Ultimate Foe concluded The Trial of a Time Lord in 1986 which had members of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society voicing their opinions of the Trial and facing off writers Pip and Jane Baker and producer John Nathan-Turner.
Among the members of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society appearing here included a certain Chris Chibnall (a fact the DVD sleeve neglected to mention) and he is rather blunt to the Bakers on what he thought of their Trial episodes.
Chibnall’s appearance on Open Air was brought up in his interview with DWM in 2007 when his episode 42 was aired that year. Chibnall says in this interview that he has since apologised to the Bakers in their encounter on Open Air.
The host of Open Air was Pattie Coldwell and in this edition she says that she did not get into Doctor Who and found the show to be basically like a kids programme.
Unfortunately she died in 2002 meaning we would never know what she would have made of “new” Doctor Who and its very adult spin-off Torchwood.

I will be getting it at some point.
I never get them straight away though.
I always wait for the price to come down then get them cheap off of Play or Amazon etc.

I got the Ace boxset last week and have so far watched Dragonfire.
Well the good is that Sylvester McCoy is great as the Doctor, the monster is well done, Tony Selby is clearly enjoying playing Glitz again and the baddie Kane is a good baddie (if that makes sense).
The bad is Sophie Aldred and Bonnie Langford who both come across as, well, a bit panto and really grating. I know Ace was written to say 'Wicked', 'bilgebag' and so on, but after about the third time in as many minutes of trying to be 'street' someone should have realised how crass it sounded and it really should have been reined in. Sylvester McCoy should also occasionally be reined in from doing his comedy ice slipping routines.

James Cameron might not want to look too closely at this serial either since there were at least three Aliens references I noticed - the monster looks like the alien queen, the little girl hiding underneath stairs/gratings and the tracking of the monster with some sort of electronic beeping gizmo.

I'll see how The Happiness Patrol turns out next.

I quite like McCoy's ice-slippy acting - out of all the cast he's the only one playing it as though the environment is ice, as opposed to polystyrene and old shower curtains. Less forgiveable is that effin' cliffhanger in part one - what the hell were they thinking? Were they thinking at all? On reflection, probably not.

I watched The Sensorites for the first time ever today. Christ but it's boring.

It's ok. I think James Cameron has plagerised enough material from other people to not even dare bring the subject up.

HA! Yeah, but he does do it well.

I bought ‘Destiny of the Daleks’ the other day, watched it last Friday. Hmm, forgot that it is full of moments that make fans and continuity observers scratch their heads.

Also bought the Pertwee Dalek War boxset.
