Logan Marshall Green has signed up for the pilot to the cinemax series QUARRY...the series based on the graphic novels by Max Allan Collins (ROAD TO PERDITION) tells the story of a Marine Corp sniper who on his return from Vietnam in 1973 finds himself recruited into an army of contract killers who operate along the Mississippi ..John Hillcoat is to direct the pilot.

Steven Soderbergh appears he has only retired from features as he has announced he will work wit star and Co-producer Clive Owen on THE KNICK for Cinemax, the 10 part series will revolve around the knickerbocker hospital in New York in 1900, a time before antibiotics when doctors and nurses fought disease and high mortality rates to push the bounds of medicine

And finally Anne Heche's new comedy at NBC, SAVE ME about a housewife who chokes on a muffin and when recovers find she can talk to god has aired and reviews are not....good, to say the least.

Hitflix says....."if it wasn't for Heche this would be completely unwatchable.

BOSTON GLOBE...."There's nothing funny or fresh about save me."

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette....."feels like a weird little indie film...if Indie films were flat and predictable."

A bit of acquisitions news:

BBC4 has picked up Belgian thriller Salamander.

Sky Atlantic has picked up the UK rights to Showtime's Ray Donovan.

The CW is to air the final episodes of the Cancelled CULT from June 28th

Things are looking grim for HANNIBAL , after a decision on it's future being delayed, the final episode pulled in a 1.0 in viewing figures, well into cancellation territory.

Meanwhile the critically derided SAVE ME of which I wrote about yesterday premiered at 0.7 ( this ones dead before it left the gates.

Mike Darnell FOX's President of Alternative programming has resigned and will step down at the end of June, Darnell who was with Fox for 18 years was responsible for programing some of the stations biggest hits including Worlds scariest police chases and When animals attack and developed AMERICAN IDOL and FAMILY GUY has left it seems despite being offered a new contract stating that he wants to move into production.....when Rupert Murdoch issues a personal statement on how much he'll be missed you know he was important to FOX.
