Announcing the Star Wars: The Old Republic Free Trial

Today we are excited to announce the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Free Trial*. Now you will be able to live out your very own Star Wars™ saga with thousands of other players up to level 15 with no charge or time limit! The Star Wars: The Old Republic Free Trial allows individuals, without a previously active Star Wars: The Old Republic game account, to see a portion of what the game has to offer with no payment method required.
Free Trial participants will experience the opening adventures of each of the eight character classes in the game. Players will explore their classes' Origin World, and may even have the opportunity to visit their faction’s Capital World! Additionally, Free Trial players will have the chance to face off against other players in Player-vs.-Player Warzones, or join up with friends and play through a Flashpoint.
Players who have previously participated in one of the Weekend Pass Free Trials or the Friends of Star Wars: The Old Republic Trial are also eligible to join this new free trial!

You don't need an invite do you? Thought that was the point of having a free trial - just hit the link or Steam or whatever and download away!

You need an invite and swtor is on origin not steam I need name and email so I can send it to you already invited loads from Iceland we get about 20 invites in all.

Like it says above if you have done trial in the past you can do so again without invite

'...or whatever...' - that was my disclaimer. I haven' t read anywhere that you need an invite, and if you do it's not really much of a free trial as you first need to know someone to get an invite from. They're trying to get some fresh blood into a game that's seen falling numbers - any kind of limitation on people trying to get a look at it would be counter-productive. Not to say you haven't invited people, if you say you have I have no reason to doubt you. That just seems a very strange way to go about getting new people in - put a barrier in the way.

And the sentence you quoted regarding folk who have been in free trials before doesn't say what you seem to think it says; it doesn't mention invites at all, required or not.

Your confusing 2 trials together. There is a 7 day trial that requires no invite its not the same as I linked cause that one lets you play up to lvl 15 on any character that one is invite based but you can go ahead and do the 7 days trial any time.

Edit: Looks like after the server maintenance they removed the 7 day trial and now you can sign up for up to lvl 15

Making those friends invites null and void.... Oh well if you are on Europe servers me and my Icelandic EU guild are on The Server "Tomb of Freedon Nadd" in game name Zorky. If you have characters on server with no population you can do a server transfer over there.

Hope you're having fun with it though; I was in the Beta and it wasn't different enough game-play wise from WoW to hook me. To be fair after riding through Warcraft's Big Bads for the past few years, I don't think I'll ever play an MMO again in the way in which they would like you to - I'll probably get Mists of Pandaria and level up a dude for the sake of seeing it, but I won't be a raider again.
