Given that it's meant to be a character that's yet to be introduced/established, I doubt it'll be a case of coming out of the closet so much as they're reintroduced as a gay character who's always been that way.

I don't actually know any kids who read comics, these days.

I hope they are wrong about Alan Scott being the gay character du jour, not because I have a fundamental (no pun intended) objection to an established character being re-imagined, but because the 'Earth 2' continuity of which he is part isn't really connected to the mainstream DCU, and it would be a bit of a cop out.

Also, choosing a man whose magic ring has no resistance to wood is....tacky.

They did report on this when the reboot came out, that only 2% of new 52 readers were under 18
