Congrats Kahless and Stephen. Good luck to anyone else with irons in the fire.

I admire people who can write short stories. It's not something I can really get into. It seems to demand a constant supply of good ideas.

I have read each submission, and if you have not yet received a response from me then I am still considering your story, so hang in there!
I have no idea who you're talking about

Well another submission will be sent off today, gonna be posting a new Future Shock to Tharg. Means for the first time in a while I have a fair few irons in fires…

A Future Shock with 2000AD
Dredd story with the Megazine
Story with Interzone
Story with Pill Hill re Use Enough Gun
Story with alt.hist magazine

On the plus side the chances of something being picked up are better, but the downside as we all know here is that they might (and possibly will) all get rejected!

Two deadlines for the end of June, one is for Black Library, which I’m confident of hitting because you don’t need to have completed the whole story, the other is for the Fantasy Faction contest and I’m 50/50 on whether I can get that done in time given I haven’t started yet and I have other projects on the go.

I though that too

Haven't forgotten about my beta reading by the way, just been v busy.

Have decided not to enter the fantasy faction comp, over a thousand entries already, and with time marching on I figure I'll pick my battles for the moment.

Another Interzone rejection...one day though...one day!!

That's OK know you busy.

Glad to announce that a short script I submitted to Twisted Showcase has been picked up for season two.

Two new writers for S2 of Twisted Showcase

Really chuffed with this and can't wait to see the filmed episode.

I wrote a short story recently.

I was advised to do it as part of my therapy for depression. I found it quite a helpful experience in a great many ways, and I actually enjoyed the process of creating a story. This idea had been in my head for a couple of years but I never got around to doing anything with it.

Now it's finished, all 15 pages of it. The big question is this.... Is it any good?

A few friends have read it and been very positive in their response. Bearing in mind this is the first time I have really tried to write anything since I was at school more than 24 years ago. But I am quite proud of it. Like a new father holding his first child in his arms.

I've sent it off to a friend who is a fairly well known author to have him look it over. We shall see what he says.

Constructive criticism is always good.
