Seems another author has gotten lost in his own ego...

Some good comedy there.

What's depressing is that he clearly does sell a fair few books, though you have to wonder how much repeat business he gets, I actually went and read a bit of one of his books on amazon, didn't strike me as anything special.

I do hate smugness when it's undeserved. Stephen King can deserve to be smug, this guy not so much...

Wow. Maybe he was drunk. Surely nobody would alienate their colleagues/peers like that sober.

There's no such thing as bad publicity, it's possible he orchestrated the whole hoo-ha.

I've been following this on twitter and the guy has not only had a go at Fantasy Faction, he's taken a pop at Gollancz directly (via a tweet), Tor and several published authors.

Being cynical this does sniff of negative publicity = cash sales, but hopefully most people will sample or read reviews first.

One major downside is the possible backlash against genuinely good self-published authors, outbursts like this will only tar everyone with the same brush, and mean those that are making a go of it and putting out good novels will suffer.

I found myself subconsciously reading his hilarious rants in the voice of Grimlock from the 80's Transformers cartoon. Try it - it really brings out the highlights in the arrogant stupidity.

And one of his books is genuinely called The Sword and the Dragon? Jeez...
