Asimov's Robots. Caves of Steel, Naked Sun, Robots of Dawn.
Forgot how short the 1st two were and the way it is written is very "compact", no over-long sentences/flowery language/expostion heavy. Sharp & snappy language. Also quite surprised about the "liberal" sex attittude of the characters in Robots of Dawn. Will move onto the Foundation series next. |

Reading very slowly these days
Took me over a month to get through two volumes of Jon Courtenay Grimwood's Arabesk trilogy, and I've shelved the third for the moment. However, by comparison I am zipping through my next book, Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower, which is very readable, and commendably non-histrionic for a book about the slow, depressing collapse of civilisation as we know it.

Been looking forward to this for a while.

Double Dead by Chuck Wendig. A zombie story with the twist that it is told from the point of view of a vamp who wakes up to find most of his prey have turned into shambling, rotting corpses.
