They also tried Superman - it flopped - so they having another go at rebooting it, and no-one knows how that'll fare, let alone be JL friendly.
And then there's Flash and Hawkman, and etc.

Meanwhile billion dollar Batman sits on the sides waiting ?

JL is a pipedream, a long time away.
Well it still wouldn't surprise me if Warner Bros try greenlighting a JL movie before the end of the year once all the money for The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises has finished rolling in.

I like to think if Warner Bros were to continue the series after Nolan's departure with another director without rebooting all over again that they'd say to them "Remember when we gave the series to Joel Schumacher? Well please don't f**k it up like that."

Now as much as I'd always look forward to another Bat film I don't know yet what I want to see post-Rises as we haven't seen the film yet. I know money is always the highest priority with making films but I think rebooting it from the start again within say, the next decade, would be lame and just reek of a cash-in, but if Rises ends in the way The Yeti suggested then there won't be an alternative.

But I'll let you know what I think when I've seen the film.

It seems to me the most likely scenario is Warners will drink in the profits from Dark Knight Rises then wait maybe 2 years before launching a new, more 'comic book-y' Batman movie series, and follow the Marvel pattern of releasing other solo movies based on select heroes, working up to a Justice League flick.

We all know that 2008's The Incredible Hulk was a largely functional franchise exercise to establish a more faithful screen Hulk that tied-in to Iron Man. With this is mind, it'll be interesting to see how much of a recognisable DC universe will be glimpsed in Man of Steel. It may or may not be intended as the first of a shared-universe sequence in the way Green Lantern obviously wasn't (despite those exciting rumours about cameos from Clark Kent and John Stewart, or even one draft of the script that featured Alan Scott).
I doubt they'd try for another GL movie, but again following the Marvel route, they could introduce more (forgive me) 'minor' heroes as supporting characters. Martian Manhunter could pop up in a Superman movie, fer instance.

I reckon Solo has it right. Though I also agree with Yeti's timescale.

Though, really, if they wanted to Warners could have done JLA years ago.

Yes, but thank Christ George Miller's Justice League: Mortal never got off the ground.

Right folks, I'm not giving a chuff about i09's "who is the ninja?" guff, because quite frankly, I don't care, I'm more concerned about that other Batsuit (spoilers ahoy here folks):
