Downloaded and watched Chronicles of Riddick last night on Sky HD Anytime+ Didn't see it when it first did the rounds, but after recently seeing Pitch Black again, I thought I'd give it a go.
9/10 for me I'd say. The set design and effects were excellent. A great action film. Ian F.

Avengers Assemble: (reviewed in the AA thread) 9.5/10
What Lies Beneath: A decade old Harrison Ford/Michelle Pfeiffer ghost story. 3/5. The most surprising thing about rewatching this was seeing Clark Gregg's name appear as screenwriter; Gregg, of course, now famous as Agent Coulson in the Marvel films.

Chronicle - three teenage boys acquire superpowers. Bit of a grim, gritty take on the idea but well worth a watch. I didn't even mind the shaky-cam (the majority of the story is told through one character filming everything) which sounds like a distracting affectation and is probably why I didn't watch it sooner, but this is one instance where it actually adds to the feel of the film.
21 Jump Street - deeply silly, highly entertaining spoof of an 80s movie of the same name. Never saw the original but this was really funny. Avengers - yep, just as awesome the second time around ![]() The Darkest Hour - one film which is really let down by its ending. It starts off with an invasion of invisible aliens detectable only by the way they occasionally glow, and set off anything electrical nearby. This works really well, right up until the end which doesn't make a lot of sense and makes the mistake of showing the aliens which of course aren't anywhere nearly as scary as you were imagining. Bit of a shame really as it feels like a missed opportunity.
