Yes, thanks, I am aware of that - Super-Geek that I am. That is, however, a bit of editorial ret-conning - largely to avoid paying royalties to the writers of the 'Adventures of Superman' radio show, where Jimmy had been named and become a regular character in April 1941 (played originally by actor Jackie Kelk) - more than six months before (in his distinctive ginger incarnation) he was first named and took up a regular supporting role in the comics, in Superman #13 (November–December 1941).

Bought a number of Green Arrow back issues on Ebay (mostly of the Kevin Smith and Meltzer). I had a number of them in Collected editions but wanted to get the originals.

Also (as a reverse of the topic) started selling off some of my Avengers back issues\collected. Got a lot more a year or so ago in preparation for the movie, doubt I'll ever read them again.

Had a bit of birthdya money burning a hole in my pocket so bought Avengers Vs X-Men (1 of 6).

I won't be buying 2-6.

Not disagreeing with you. I haven't read that book, but I have the Essential Batman Encyclopedia, I'm assuming the format's the same, written in-universe, no mention of other media?

I haven't got the Batman volume, but it's the same author and publisher, so I assume a similar editorial approach is taken.

I bought a lot of things on free comic book day but the coolest was definately buying the whole huntress miniseries. Probably the best comic book run I've read in a while. Unfortunately it depresses me for 3 reasons:

1. It's already over and the world's finest doesn't look to be as good
2. It's exactly what I'd like to get out of Green Arrow comics (but instead they are rubbish at the moment)
3. I've somehow managed to lose them already
