Got some water stuck in my ear last night in the bath, which left me not able to hear in one ear today, first thing in the morning I tried to wet the end of a paper towel to see if that would loosen the blockage (its worked in the past), but that left me with more water in my ear.
I put my little finger in to try and clear that out, and got a massive pain in my ear which took about 15 minutes to go away. Came to work still a little deaf today, got some ear drops at dinner time and left them in for ten minutes, when I used another paper towel to get those out, there was a small amount of blood on the end. Literally just one drop. Obviously I am concerned about my ear drum, since I want to go see the avengers next week, so just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar. Can't really get to doctors tonight, will probably go tomorrow if it happens again.

I've only had it from ear infections (6 or so since 1999), which are bad news. Though antibiotics (if needed) clear them up in 5 days or less depending upon severity.
If not the docs, see if you have a walk in centre nearby. They can prescribe from there and are often quicker than the docs (in my experience)

Hmm, oddly enough, this has started happening to me. My ears get incredibly itchy, and for years I'd scratch them using a match, but lately I've stopped doing that. Since I stopped, and started using cotton buds, every now and then they bleed, then stop, then bleed again. I'm worried I have cancer of the ears or somesuch. Too scared to get them checked. Odd.

There lots of things can make you bleed other than cancer, but never put off going to doctors, if it is the worst, they can do something about it if you go early enough.
Lost my brother to cancer two years ago because he wouldnt go until it was too late.

I once fell asleep on the sofa wearing glasses. These fell off and when I turned my head one of the arms went up my ear and burst my eardrum. It was absolute agony and blood went everywhere - luckily it seems to have only been temporary damage as I haven't noticed any impairment.
It wasn't fun.

It sounds like an ear drum worth checking out
