SFX Weekender 3 - Accommodation at Pontin's Prestatyn

Hi all

sorry I haven't posted much but have just been too ill - just a quick post then back to bed again!

Was flicking through tv on one of my good hours and caught a bit of a BBC children's programme called "Trade your way to the USA" (a kind of children's apprentice) and the challenge was at Prestatyn Pontin's.

They showed the main hall - there seemed to be tiered seating at the back which may make it easier for the talks - there was also, bizarrely, an ice skating rink.

So if you want a sneak peak at the venue for SFX weekender 3 the programme is available on iplayer until 4:29pm on Wed 4 May - will try a link and hope it works.

Oh that's where it's being held! I used to go to Rhyl every year with my grandparents! I wonder if the Jet Stream and the Looping Star are still there...

I've got family in the area too, although I assure you that was not the reason for choosing the venue. Incidentally, did you see that there's a ticket offer available this month to forum members?

Honey and I booked our tickets at the Weekender this year, didn't want to miss out on VIP!

Hopefully I will be OK for next Weekender Verity - it's my only real outing of the year and I really look forward to it.

Hopefully team Jaffa Cake will be able to reform and improve our score - perhaps the SFX team could give us all homework for the three months preceding, before we take the end of year exam!

Hopefully the Blastermind phone app will be up in a few months so we can get plenty of practice in!

I don't have a smart phone - just a really old phone with no apps or internet!

It would be great though if one of the rounds could be based on tv series or films that we have been told to watch by the SFX team over the months preceding the weekender, which would allow them to widen our SFX knowledge by their favourite shows, but would also give us a 'forum blastermind preparation viewing club', by giving us a different show/movies a month. This would also allow the people who are unable to go to the weekender a chance to join in.
