Apparently, the SFX newsletter has the highest "percentage opened" rate of any newsletter at Future Publishing (ie, the number actually read as opposed to the number sent out) which must say something about its quality.

Okay, done. Registered forum users can sign up for the newsletter by going into their Control Panel, clicking Edit Options, scrolling almost to the bottom of the page and ticking Newsletter Sign-up. Now I'll never miss a programme again.

Good issue.

Loved the Batman feature and that Being Erica is at least getting a mention. Nice Adrian Mole reference on page 117 too. I liked Dave's Lost love letter as well and think it's definitely better to have lost love with Lost than never to have loved Lost at all (surely this years finest geeky tongue twister).

Tell that to the Scandinavian Tourist Board of North America. Out of interest, why the outrage?

As for ish 199, it's one of the best ever and I'm only up to the DVD reviews. Big articles on/interviews with Torchwood and RTD, Nic Cage, '90s Star Trek & Brannon Braga, M. Night Shyamalan, Mark Hamill and Captain Scarlet to boot. How are you going to top all that?

Dave G's "Lost It" feature was funny. He tried to be magnanimous and grown up about it but in the end couldn't hide the bitterness of that final betrayal.

I just found a copy of #198 sealed in a bag with a copy of Total Film for a cheaper-than-both-together price. Is this a new thing from Future?

We've been doing this, occasionally, for almost a year - I think the first one was our Avatar cover at the end of 2009. The "bumper packs" get you Total Film and SFX together, at a slightly cheaper price than buying both magazines individually. So if you're interested in both mags, it's a good saving. It doesn't happen every month, I think we've packaged with them six times or something. You can usually find the bumper packs in the bigger supermarkets and WHSmith.
