Alex Kingston. I was gutted that she cancelled. But hey crap happens.
More of the really cool panels. Had a hard time choosing which ones to go to. And I think I got it wrong missing Just A Minute. DOH! Better organised check ins for Thursday. Use as much space as possible for check in. Not just three small windows. VIP bar that gives real value. I bought a beer in the VIP bar and it cost me more than from the normal bar.... ![]() Another recreation of the Death Star Canteen sketch with Darth Vader. We were peeing ourselves laughing at that.

Here are a few of the things I would like to see..............
First off, a bigger Barter town. Maybe in one of the big structured Marquees you find. This could expand the variety of goods sold and cater to more mainstream tastes. ( I thought I was a geek before coming - now I realise I am only treading water in the ocean of geekdom!) The cost of hiring this can be offset against the increase in revenue gained by having more stalls! ( I just wish this year I had a Sci-Fi branded woolley hat and scarf stall - I would have made a fortune!) Infact, Stick some of these Marquees all over! It gives more space to hold more events or discussions. SFX has some great sister publications. Why not have a marquee for the comic heroes magazine and related events ( I would have lived in there!) Or one for certain themes of shows i.e True Blood, Twilight etc and one for the massive Dr Who contingent! You would be able to re-introduce the gamer zone too. Not only would you get to meet more like minded people in these areas it would free up other areas for the "Time-out" areas people craved! I could go on but you get my drift! As I mentioned I thought the cosplay was awesome and the awards were a great idea. Expand on it and have costume genre catagories and then an overall winner. I think this will get even more people to dress up and meet up! With all the feedback about this year I cant wait to go again next year as I think it will be bigger and even better! I will elaborate further later! |

Cheers Stumpy!
I'd also add Tony Head to that, as so many people were upset about his cancellation. I'm even willing to go pick him up myself! I agree with the VIP thing - we need to see real deals for VIPs. Also perhaps the number of VIPs to be limited, as I did notice that at times the VIP queue was longer than the standard. Scrap the VIP bar and just have proper VIP discount at the bar on showing your pass. (And ensure the staff know about it) I would like check-in to be opened at 12pm, allowing those who are nearer to get through and settled for those of us travelling for hours arriving. As it stands, i'm seriously considering coming down the night before! I'd like Just a Minute to be a permanent fixture - pure comedy gold! The Blastermind - as much as the prizes are appreciated (I assume, as we came fourth so just missed out *sniff*) how about a little trophy for the winning teams? Doesn't have to be huge, and you can probably get them for less than a tenner each. Also, I know this is probably a sure thing, but please NEVER replace the Rankins as Awards hosts. It just wouldn't be the same without them! ![]() Just a couple of things for the minute, i'm sure I'll have plenty more over the coming months!

Hey all,
Well for me it'll be a better system for signing. Don't get me wrong, I was able to get the 2 I wanted this year. When I went to book my tickets for SFX Weekender 4 (have been to all 3 so far, and am looking forward to number 4,) I was told that next year, only VIP tickets will be allowed signing passes so maybe this will help with congestion (as long as they don't oversell VIP tickets.) If I come up with any more ideas, I'll post them. Take care, Matty-lad |

I actually like the prizes we got for the Blastermind, each yer they've been cool or unique, so don't replace them!
I'd love their to be a TV in the signing room which shows what's happening in the Main Void. You can mostly hear what's happening, but I think being able to see it would help the queue feel like it's moving quicker. Also bring back the VIP queue! Don't shut off the Barter Town room in the evening, it makes it a night mare to go from the main void to the Pub, especially with the cloakroom being in reception. It also meant that when the pub got closed at one point people didn't know how to get out! Surely there must be some way to block off the stalls but leave the thorough-fair open? As others have said, make sure the bar-staff know about the VIP discounts, apply it to all drinks not just a select few, and make it mean something! Repeat Just a Minute! I attended another panel and missed it. Have the pizza place open, the one next to the chicken place, they were taunting us with the pizza boxes!

Hey,
As I said in my post above, when I went to get tickets for Weekender 4, I was told that only VIP could get signings so this should be sorted now. Take care, Matty-lad |

I believe that the whole thing is available on Youtube. I missed it too, which now seems a huge mistake.
