But will we be told how they escaped the S1 cliffhanger (my guess is they dived in the pool) or will we be left speculating?

I was thinking the same about them diving in the pool.

It's right there at the bottom of the article Bad Hat linked to in the OP.

I don't think they'll dive in the pool, as it was Sherlock shooting that would detonate it, so I doubt they'd have time. I think more likely Moriarty just concedes there's a stalemate and leaves, or Mycroft's people(he did tell his subordinate at the end of Study In Pink to increase surveillance on them) intervene, possibly even capturing Moriarty briefly(it could always end up having been his plan all along!).

I'm looking forward to this, and check out some pictures of Lara Pulver as Irene Adler.

I was watching series 1 again recently and couldn't help thinking would it have made much difference if Sherlock had chucked the bomb in the pool? At the very least it probably couldn't be set off by remote.

Spoiler-free review here - http://www.denofgeek.com/television/...ee_review.html - sounds like it might be rather good...

Interesting on-set interview with Cumberbatch, Freeman, Moffat & Gatiss in yesterday's Independent.
It mentions that after "Scandal..." we'll see "The Hounds of Baskerville" and then "The Reichenbach Fall"...
When talking about the second story the piece does drop a SPOILER, so if your facial expression is now either a or a then when you come to the paragraph near the end that starts off with...
Quote:
In the editing suite I am shown the first 15 minutes of "The Hounds of Baskerville",
...skip to the end of said paragraph and hopefully you should still be spoiler-free.
