Default Indiana Jones and the pension of doom

HARRISON FORD IS TO RETURN AS INDIANA JONES AT AGE 70

Quote:
Fellow actor Shia LaBeouf, who appeared alongside Ford as his son Mutt in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull in 2008, now reveals he’s been approached about appearing in the next film. “They’re scriptwriting now,” says LaBeouf, 24. “It sounds crazy. It sounds really cool.”
It sounds a bit sh*te to me.

I'm guessing Mutt will end up with most of the screen time while Ford will fill the Sean Connery 'Last Crusade' role.

While I enjoyed the last film it did sort of end there for me.

I wonder what Lucas has in mind?

I don't mind the fact that HF is getting on, he still looks fit enough for the role, and was the best thing about the last one. All I am concerned with is the script and the action sequences, which were both a trifle lacking in the last one.
I'm glad they are making a new one, because I'd like the last one to be better than KS.
I think they know the last one wasn't so great, so will be a bit more attentive to what they are doing, so i imagine, hopefully, the next one will be better than Ks, but still not as good as the original 3.

yep, hopefully they can make something more akin to the original three.

Its a shame, as I still maintain that the core "idea" of KS was sound, it was just badly executed. Indy fits just as well in the secrets and paranoia of the 50's as he does in the murky occult world of the 30's.

Regarding HF's age, I remember a really cool scene from the series, where a battered old Indy (with eyepatch I think) is arrested and then relates a tale to a cell of rough looking guys about being a prisoner in the war.
Although I cant remember anything else about the episode, that image has always stuck with me, and I like the idea of Indy growing old disgracefully, but relying more on his experience and knowledge than his fists and whip.

Thats one of the things I thought KS did get right in the depiction of Indy.

YIJC: The Mystery of the Blues
Blues stands out as having a neat little Harrison Ford cameo, but is otherwise a pretty useless endeavor. Indiana leaves home for Chicago, bumping into Louis Armstrong, Al Capone, Elliot Ness, and Ben Hecht. He finds a job waiting tables, and learns to play the saxophone while bouncing from speakeasy to speakeasy. Indiana Jones as a struggling jazz musician feels untrue to his character, and the amount of "run-ins" he has with historical figures in this one is preposterous.

And this is Indy aged 93 portrayed by George Hall.

Indy loses one of his eyes sometime between 1957 and when the "Old Indy" segments take place in YIJC's.

It's also worth noting that -
Quote:
The tv show provided some backstory for the films, as well as new information regarding the character. He was born July 1, 1899, and his middle name is Walton (Lucas's middle name). It is also mentioned that he had a sister called Suzie who died as an infant of fever, and that he eventually has a daughter and grandchildren who appear in some episode introductions and epilogues.

Wahey! I'm not going mad, Thanks SOS.

Wow, The picture of Ford with the Sax, he looks like he is enjoying that almost as much as the Holiday Special...
