Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
I think you need to calm down a bit and read that back to yourself.
I'm not ignoring the issue or refusing to listen. I just think you are blowing it massively out of proportion, indulging in...

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
When you start complaining about a black actor playing the (in all previous incarnations of the character) white Johnny Storm, I'll take you complaints about Khan seriously. The truth in both cases...

Re: Avengers Assemble - SPOILERS
My understanding (not sure where I picked this up from) is that, as long as there is no reference to X-Men, Magneto, etc, as they are also Avengers characters, they can be used by Marvel/Disney.

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
Compare this with the fuss about Michael B Jordan potentially being cast as Johnny Storm in the new Fantastic Four reboot - do the people who are complaining about Cumberbatch have any views on this?...

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
The same here.
Didn't the episode 'Bread and Circuses' make it pretty explicit that Kirk engaged in horizontal manoeuvres with the slave girl that Merrick put in his room?

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
Speaking as someone who watched the first BBC broadcasts of Star Trek in the late 60s, saw pretty much all the films on the cinema, has the entire original TOS on blu-ray and most of TNG on DVD (and...

Re: The Hobbit - 2012 & 2013
Just a nitpick - Jackson has not included any material from The Silmarillion or any other work by Tolkien except The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, as the Tolkien Estate has never sold any of...

Re: 2001: A Space Odyssey
Am I the only person here who loves this film? I got it on Blu-Ray a year or two back (and it looks magnificent, BTW) and showed it to my two kids, then aged, probably 15 and 11, and they were...

Re: Judge Dredd-2012 (SPOILERS!)
If you want it on Blu Ray you have no option (in the UK at least) but to buy the combo disc - there is no 2D standalone version available. And I want it on blu-ray because I have a decent-sized HD...

Re: Movies worthy of 1080p
Have to agree with a log of the above - Alien looks incredible, you wouldn't think it was shot in 1979. LOTR Extended versions look incredible also the two Dark Knight films. Star Trek (2009). Tron...

Re: Sci-fi film of the year?
Why do people class Skyfall as Sci-Fi? I'm genuinely interested to hear the reasons for this.
If Skyfall is Sci-Fi then so are all the Jack Ryan, Bourne, etc films.

Re: The Hobbit - 2012 & 2013
No such luck - here in the IOM the one cinema which shows mainstream films - the Palace Cinema which is at the back your hotel - will only show the 3D version of a film if it is in 3D.
