I've gotten Mai-HiME and Mai-Otome off the reccomendation of a friend but I have no time to watch it
anyone seen them yet?

Also bought books 2-4 of Eerie Queerie (incredibly short series), and to say I'm annoyed at the ending is a serious underestimation!

Actually, I think Eerie Queerie has a sequel series, but it's only released in Japan. But yeah, the ending was kinda of a letdown.

I feel for poor Ichi, his character only seemed to have a personality in vol1...

Anyway, I've started watching Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, PURE CRACK!! I'm seriously addicted now, and Sousuke/Kaname may be my new OTP. When I move back home I may even show it to my anime-hating mum, because I know this will make her larf.

Oh and Leah, I bought Koala March biscuits (strawberry) today, yum!

I'm going to Japan on Tuesday and I may actually try getting some, since the boyfriend will not be with me to make me feel guilty for eating them...!

Now I'm done with Nerima Daikon Brothers, I'm finding Mezzo hugely entertaining. Although I suspect that this type of show is probably a dime a dozen, it looks new to me. I think the only non-comedy anime series I've properly watched has been Chrono Crusade.

RGSaffron 04-05-2007 12:23 AM

I hope you can feel my envy from here, Leah!

But have a good time, keep the clothes packing to a mininum, so theres more room for stuff in your suitcase!

I'd love to go to japan. I just know I'd come home heavilly in debt after visiting all the toy shops...

I've seen HiME, and really enjoyed it. It's sort of a mix of shounen-ish action and 'magical girl' fantasy. It starts off as a fanservicey comedy, but becomes serious as the story progresses. There are some interesting characters - quite a few 'main' ones, considering the plot revolves around a group of girls - and quite a good story there.

Otome I was less impressed with, as it had a similar tone, but didn't work quite as well with the characters or the plot as HiME did.

Between the two, you're better off watching HiME first, as Otome makes references to the basis of HiME.

I've recently read the incredibly bizarre but pretty good manga, 'Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service' (what a title...). The third volume got a good write-up on ANN, so I thought I'd give the first ago, and was pleasantly surprised at the story. Not brilliant, but not at all bad.
