I've seen the Alpha film (not generations), it doesn't seem to have any relation to the Animated Film or the Alpha series (except for featuring some characters). Not sure about generations but I think that's related to an Anime series so its again separate to the other films.

Has anyone seen any KOF or Fatal Fury movies? I'm getting tired of all these Shoryukens.

Went to see The Girl Who Leapt Through Time on monday -- what a charmingly sweet film that was! Very similar to Groundhog Day both in premise and style

Although I didn't think the twist was all that odd -- I just thought it was really heartwarming and nice - where Chiaki is all like, "wait for me"

Ghibli have certainly got their work cut out for them after the merely good Earthsea...

I don't disagree with that, but the whole backstory kinda came out of nowhere, I just would've prefered it if there had been a more straightforward happy ending

Watched Soul Eater episode 24 yesterday.

I would have passed this off as boring shounen episodes ago were it not for the fact that the style, in animation and music, is fantastic, and the story and characters - though nothing at all spectacular - are just a whole lot of fun.

I'm not expecting it to turn into something legendary (doubt at the moment that it'll get anything close to Naruto or Bleach's popularity), but I don't need it to. I got me some daftness to entertain myself with. :p

Bones got Asura's little resurrection spot-on. Thoroughly horrible, reminiscent of some of FMA's nastier moments. I'd have been happy to see Medusa go the way she did in the manga (in pieces) for the sheer OTT heck of it, but it worked well enough.

Soul eater.. DB did a fake troll of that and really ripped it to peices.

Speaking of DB, did anyone grab the fake troll of the 2nd shippuuden movie? If you've not, then don't unless you're a fan of J-Horror.

Isn't that something that was only revealed in the manga relatively recently, so it won't show up until after where there at even in Shippuuden (so 100+ episodes after Naruto season 4, even assuming you skip the filler)?

--edit--

I know I only found it out recently, but can't remember if it was in the manga or in Shippuuden itself. I'm fairly certain it wasn't before Shippuuden at least

Speaking of Shippuuden, the double episode was a good 'un. Next weeks should be good too. Can never get enough of Shikamaru :D It's good seeing Naruto really trying hard too.

Still have no idea who Naruto's mother is, but I know who the father is and I'm post Shippuden.

It was annoying though, he never seems to ask about it for ages.

How did you think the US soundtrack compared to the Japanese sountrack?
The Japanese soundrack seems practically non-existant, the Chun-Li vs Vega fight just seems odd with a love song playing on the Japanese version.

Anyway,

Been watching Bleach because even though I'm not that swept up in, I still want to know what happens.

If any Londoners are interested, Orbital Manga had a presentation boxset of Bleach Managas (1-20 ish).

Whilst the series has picked up its still a bit odd, and they've now changed the title sequence, which was one of the best things about the show.

Also watching Paniponi dash, HMV had a DVD sale, which included a good selection of Anime. Picked up the first vol for £7 and whilst its just a bit too odd and hard to follow, still funny and enjoyable enough.

This is something that's taking me a while to adjust to with anime. Western TV shows tend to keep the same theme tune, or a variation on it, for their entire lifespan, yet it's not uncommon for an anime series to change its opening and closing songs multiple times per story arc.

It's not so bad when the songs are all of a similar style, but then you get a show like Death Note, where there wasn't even a vague similarity between the styles of the two opening theme songs. Plus the second one was just horrible :(
