Thirty five quid for the one with the companion book, it was a choice between Twilight Zone or Lost.

I don't understand why the judges choose to knock him out. I don't know much about skating but to me he seemed like the much better skater. I am really sad that his has been knocked out :(

Are you going to keep watching the show? I haven't decided yet, but I might not.

Rant:

"Limited edition" CARD cases for CDs. I hate the bloody things. You know the things I mean. They're so easy to damage - they get battered and ragged. in the old days if you accidentally stood on your cd case, no prioblem - just put it in a new case. But you can't replace or mend one of these "special edition" cases. (how is it a special edition when its ONLY available in that format? I've tried going to five different shops and they all stock the "limited edition"!

I went to buy TWO albums today and both of them were only available in card cases. I don't want one! I want a regular case! arghghghghg!

I think it's a conspiracy. Its built in obsolesence. The record companies WANT our DVD cases to get tatty and dirty and tea stained so we will buy another copy in five years time!

And the other week it was the same with Arctic Monkeys AND The Strokes. I refused to buy either. Fortunately I picked up both albums in London on vinyl - which is my preferred medium, but don't even get me started on that...

Rave:
There were no extras on the DVD I just watched for review, which means I can go to bed before 2.00am tonight!! Yayyyyyyy

I was gutted when I heard this, I had missed him the last two weeks through playing risk with my brother and his friend. I'll probably still watch it to pass some time and to moan furiously.

FlamesOfFury 08-02-2006 08:20 PM

RANT: I think I might have the flu or something... >.<

RAVE: Invasion is on now. I'm watching that.

dave 08-02-2006 08:24 PM

RANT:Got a home cinema system for downstairs and the sound is shit.

Im not sure but i think its faulty. The volume goes up to 80 but you have to have it on 45 for a decent level, that seems high to me, also all the speakers hiss really loudly, you notice it more when theres nothing coming through.

It sounds a bit tinny.

I really cant be arsed to take it back, i fed the wires under the carpet and everything.

RAVE: Curb you enthusiasm, the best comedy ive seen since the office. Just genius.

Clown Asylum 08-02-2006 08:43 PM

RANT: I brought 5 brand-new CDs over to my brother's birthday party at the weekend. He promptly uploaded them onto his laptop and now he's got the lot for free. I can't help but think there's something wrong there.

RANT: I have an ear infection. It itches like Hell.

RAVE: I have a week's worth of annual leave left which I have to use up before the end of March. So I can either spend a week sitting at home watching videos, or I can swap the days for cash which I can then use to buy a bunch more videos! Win-win!

Oh, decisions, decisions...

HBK 08-02-2006 09:17 PM

RAVE nearly my birthday that means new swords :D

So what if it was his birthday? I got him a machine gun and a bottle of scotch. He should have been happy with that!

And I mean both DVDs and videos. I haven't shaken off the dark ages just yet.

I'm with you there Ian. It's a pain. I was so glad when Warner Bros saw sense and stopped releasing their DVDs in those cardboard snapper cases a year or so back. Still - to late for half my Friends collection. :(

I`ve swapped all my cardboard cased dvd`s into jewel cases, allways keep old cases from magazines so i can use them when required. Can`t do it with the likes of The Matrix or Any given Sunday like, they`re fancy cardboard cases.

Rant: I've got no money and it's bloody Valentine's day next week. I wonder if my wife will accept a card I made on the PC and a snowdrop from the front garden (yeah, right)?

Rave: Highlander films! With Adrian Paul! And Peter Wingfield, my favourite bit-part actor!!

(!!!)

Rant: Some utter ASSHAT is abusing our Hellboy competition and spamming up my inbox with entries. In the space of 23 minutes he's entered two hundred and thirty-eight times and the entries are still coming in. They're freezing up my inbox and I do actually have a size limit on it, so I'm deeply, deeply unimpressed. I've set up a rule to automatically delete any emails coming from his address but it doesn't seem to be working. And I hear I have nothing better to deal with today.

I don't really have any raves to counterbalance this, either. Grrr

A handmade (so to speak) individually crafted card instead of some mass-produced tacky rubbish, and a limited edition fresh smelling personally picked flower instead of some overpriced roses that droop after about about 5 minutes? Well I know what I'd prefer! :D

We had the same problem before we changed to registrant only entries - I emailed the offending guy and threatened to report him to his ISP stating that they'd cancel his account and blacklist him from getting an ISP account elsewhere if he continued*. He stopped!

* not what would really happen but I was desperate!

heatherbelles 09-02-2006 04:14 PM

Rants: My 'Wonderful' work...

I've having to move departments *again* because aparently the budget isn't there now!

I've only been on the flipping department 3 months (when they decided that what my team were doing wasn't economically viable enough, because god forbid offering a Customer Service comes before making money)

And now, our client isn't upping the budget, and they "have to reduce the headcount". There was a pretence at offering a choice to move this morning "would you consider moving to Customer Services" To which my reply went along the lines of "well, I don't really want to - there was a reason I left it 3 years ago"

This was followed by this afternoon, whereupon I was informed "Sorry, but you're moving" They're saying that it might only be temporary, as we might get money from the client again to get you back on our team again. I remain unconvinced.

I only just settled down into this team, with a TL I really like, and a team I get on with, after the last time they screwed me over. And my TL's on holiday so I can't even discuss it wioth her before they move me on tuesday.

I'm see-sawing between tearful and furious (you know when you're so mad you wanna cry?), I've got to go back on the phones and take more overflow and I've already had a couple of arsey customers.

When I get home, I'm going to update/set up my CV, start looking for jobs that actaully use my qualifactions , and then I may get drunk I think. But not too drunk, as I have to be at work again at 9 in the morning.

I'm livid. I really am.

Maybe its the kick up the arse I need to go get that heritage job!

No raves at the moment I'm afraid (unless you mean in the 'mad' sense of the word!)

RANT everyone in my 6th form gets a day off virtually but i have to go in
there are about 2 - 4 people in my physics class this afternoon

RAVE NO WORK TONIGHT!!!! i can sit here on the forum being as silly as i like (because that sort of thing is tollerated here :D )

Rants:

Web design vacancies. I'm not sure what people are on, but the entry requirements are getting a bit silly. The agencies are full of ads for people who can do the designs in Photoshop and Illustrator, convert the designs to standards compliant CSS, fluent in Java, Perl, ASP, PHP, .NET, Flash, Actionscript, Director - not to mention 2 years agency experience - all for the grand sum of around 16k. Even more amusingly, experience of design for print is 'an advantage'.
Decided to retrain as an electrician.

Fridge Freezer has died - 2 days after replacing both the washing machine and tumble dryer.

Car had its mirrors kicked off and a headlight kicked in.

Had to get a lodger to help pay the bills.
