Re: RANT/RAVE OF THE DAY
RANT/RAVE: After two phone calls and one email, some bloke from my housing association rang me back about my rent.
The conversation went something like this: HA: Yes so hands up that is my mistake, it should actually be *gives figure which is £10 less* but it’s too late to change the direct debit now so what we’d like to do if you’re happy with it is if you pay this full amount for April only, and then we’ll sort it out for May. Me: Actually no I’m really not happy with overpaying you for your mistake. And how exactly are you working out how much my rent should be, because that still doesn’t sound right? HA: Er, well rent increases incrementally every April… Me: Yes I know that, what I want to know is how you are working out the increase. According to your website the increase should be capped at the RPI plus ½% plus £2. HA: Er, well, a leaflet was sent out telling you about your rent increase, I can send it again if you like? Me: Yes please and I would like a new letter to be sent with it showing the correct monthly amount and showing your calculations so I can check them with colleagues in Housing and Finance. Once I am satisfied it is correct I will pay you by cheque. I will cancel April’s direct debit which gives you an additional six weeks to rectify your mistake for May’s direct debit. Is that alright? HA: *sounds defeated* yes, ok*hangs up* Me: Bwah ha ha! So, still not sorted. But getting there. Incompetent, cheeky monkeys! |
Re: RANT/RAVE OF THE DAY
RAVE: Listened to the parody album me and my mates made.

RAVE: WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UBER-RAVE: The Boy is trying to sort himself out. its bloody lovely, no horrid smell and a calm house |
Re: RANT/RAVE OF THE DAY
RAVE: I did manage to flay a patch of skin from a sensitive area last weekend (that part's not the rave BTW) and it has finally healed and stopped stinging and sticking to clothes and generally being inconvenient ^_^
RANT: just in time for me to flay some skin from the back of my mouth whilst eating raw carrot so more stingy coming up >.<; |
Re: RANT/RAVE OF THE DAY
RANT: 4 hours on a day travelling by train - something I used to do routinely in the 1980's - is now intolerable. The worst part of my journey is the 30 minute wait at Ashford International Station, which I swear is refrigerated, certainly it's about 10 degrees below ambient. There are no seats at all outside the cafe/waiting room. There are no timetables displayed, and the monitors here and there are inaccurate and incomplete. There is a massive aircon unit right next to the platform that is intolerably loud. The prices in the cafe and vending machine go well beyond profiteering to the completely ridiculous. About the only good thing is that the staff are friendly and helpful.
RAVE: I have found somewhere new to live (in Canterbury) for about a third of the price of my current flat. And as the train approaches Canterbury I already feel like I'm coming home, something I never felt about Brighton, though I've lived there for 20 years or so. tl;dr: Trains are horrible. Canterbury is lovely. |

Re: RANT/RAVE OF THE DAY
Boo: I like your style
RAVE: good night last night. Got tipsy on like a gazillion shots of apple sourz RANT: Got a message from a guy friend asking me out on a date this morning. Had to friendzone him sadly, he's a really nice guy but if it ain't there, it ain't there. But now he's all annoyed with himself as he reckons if he'd asked sooner I would have said yes. I wouldn't have. Not that I can say that. *sigh* RAVE: Going out again! tonight, ugh, I am going to be dead on Sunday. |
