RANT: SNOW SNOW SNOW!

Completely messed up my plans for today now :evil:

RANT: Why is it that the one time, every year, when I need to speak to my HR department, they are either off on holiday, at a meeting, at a conference or OFF SICK?! At least I found out before driving all the way down to work like last year, just to find out that they weren't in. Useless.

RAVE: Congrats Mrs Portus!
RAVE: Despite getting tired of the prolonged winter I still get a lift in my heart when I see the snow coming down in thick clumps. So v pretty!

RANT: Keep forgetting to watch Being Human. Thank goodness for iplayer.

RAVE: Dissertation going a lot better since I chucked out the plan and started writing down the first things that occured to me. Stream of Conciousness essay writing rules :D

RAVE: Thankfully the first thing that popped into my head wasn't 'Frodo and Sam are definitely lovers. End of'. So that's good.

RANT: University essay feedback. Is it me or are they quite harsh, even if you passed? This is probably just me not being able to take criticism, but it's made me feel a bit crap about my essay writing abilities.

RAVE: Ice cream!

Rant/ Rave: I think Swansea must exist in its own little climate bubble here. No matter what the rest of the country is doing it just rains. Which means there is no snow.

Rant: Evil housemate and equally annoying friend decided to keep us awake until 2.30 am. Banging and giggling. I actually thought they were going to come through the ceiling at one point. And telling them to shut up only resulted in making them noisier.

Rave: I was going to go vacuum outside her room this morning but the fire safety dude turned up at 8.30 am to test the smoke alarms. That certainly disturbed her. :P

Rave: Reading back through some first year notes I noticed that I'd obviously misheard the lecturer and written that Gower had written the 'Professio Mantis' when he actually wrote the 'Confessio Amantis'. The 'Confessio' is a set of tales a bit like The Canterbury Tale whereas I would suspect the 'Professio Mantis' to be about a professional preying mantis. :lol: Simple things make me happy...

Rave: Pretty new gloves for only £3 :D

RAVE : Karen Gillan in the Doctor Who trailer

RANT : The rest of the Doctor Who trailer.

RAVE: Been a very busy girl today making lots of important phone calls and sorting out important things.

RANT: Stoopid, stoopid Sky. I've always loved Sky, but trying to leave them is such a hassle that I'm glad I'm leaving.

Rant:

It's late at night, the wind is a frozen chill sweeping across the landscape. You've got off the train, you're tired and want to get back home. You run from the station to the bus stop as you can see the bus you need is sitting there, as if it knew you were coming and it had waited especially for you.

Unfortunately the bus is evil and was only luring you into a false pit of happiness as it pulls away just as you catch up with it.

The next bus is in 15 minutes. The shops are shut and you can't get any warmth from anywhere.

The bus comes, earlier than anticipated, maybe buses aren't evil and can be friendly. You get on the bus, you can sit on a seat near the heating.

5 minutes into your bus journey, the driver is mystified, "Road Closed"...

It's not going to go anywhere near where you live and you'll have to get off and walk home.

Yay.
