Next Gen Stars Reunite For Family Guy
This coming Sunday’s episode of Family Guy in the States features a Next Generation reunion, when Stewie and co go to a Trek convention and meet Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Denise Crosby, Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn and Wil ("I blog me!") Wheaton. E! Online has an interview with producer and Trekkie David Goodman who says that all the Trek actors were, “very game. We had fun playing with who they are. It's easy to mock things that take themselves too seriously. Star Trek is both wonderful and pompous at the same time. I really am a die-hard Trekkie, but there are moments in Star Trek where it takes itself very seriously."

Doozers Return
Celebrate Fraggle Rock fans (and if you're not one, why not?) because as well as there being a big screen version in production, there’s also going to be a new TV spin-off spotlighting the Doozers, reports The Muppet Newsflash. The Henson Company will produce 26 half-hour episodes of the CG animated series about the industrious little green blue-collar workers, focusing on a trio of new apprentice Doozers - named Baxter, Puzzlebea and Daze. Okay, so it’s aimed at four to seven year olds, but we all secretly watch Shaun The Sheep, don't we? Don’t we? Oh, just me then...

Tom Hanks May Into Orbit Again
Having played a real astronaut in Apollo 13, Tom Hanks may now play a fictional astronaut in the form of '60s action figure Major Matt Mason, reports Variety. The toy franchise, launched in the '60s by Mattel, featured Mason and a bunch of astronauts who lived in a space station and explored the moon. The film will be scripted by Graham ("Speed") Yost for Universal, which is already developing another big screen toy adaptation, Stretch Armstrong.

Lesbian Vampires Flops
The dire Horne and Corden "comedy" Lesbian Vampire Killers has flopped at the UK box office, taking just £649,000 over the weekend, reports The Guardian. That put it in third place after Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Duplicity – not exactly stiff competition. It also means it opened worse that Ant and Dec’s 2006 Alien Autopsy (a film that seems like Citizen Kane in comparison).

Battle Tactics
8 Mile scriptwriter Scott Silver has been called in the rewrite Chris Bertolini's script for Columbia’s Battle: Los Angeles, an alien invasion flick which takes place guess where? The Hollywood Reporter doesn’t say what was wrong with the original script. Maybe Bertolini set it in Miami?
