X-Men 4 Gets Youthful Reboot
Chuck showrunner Josh Schwartz has been hired by Fox to write the next X-Men movie, which will reboot the franchise with a bunch of younger mutants, reports Variety. Fox hopes that Schwartz will inject a next-gen sensibility into X-Men: First Class (we really hope they change that title) and there is the possibility he may direct as well. It all sounds a bot like X-Men spin off title Generation X to us. Starring roles for Artie and Leech, please.

Verbinski Will Be Your Host
Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski is set to produce the US version of a 2006 Korean film about a town terrorised by a giant mutant squid-like creature hatched by toxins that flow into a nearby river from a military base. According to Variety, The Host will be directed by first-timer Fredrik Bond, who has directed ad campaigns for Nike, Adidas and Levi's. The film, originally titled "Gwoemul," did record-breaking business in its theatrical run in South Korea.

Captain America Writers
Marvel’s Captain America movie will be written by the team behind the scripts for the two Narnia films, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, reports Variety.

Travelling Backwards
The Days Before isn’t a prequel to The Day After Tomorrow, but a new SF movie script picked up by Warner Bros, reports Variety. It’s about aliens invading Earth by travelling backwards through time and wiping out humanity one (yester)day at a time, while one man stays a yesterday ahead of them, trying to convince the world that the end is coming again.
