Torchwood Children of Earth Trailer
|
Nick Setchfield: "Really impressed by that. They seem to have added a healthy dollop of Spooks to the mix - I like the suggestion that there's more of a labyrinthine political thriller feel. And, as a Welshman, my heart leaps just a little at the sight of a good Valleys girl brandishing twin guns. Go, Gwen!" Richard Edwards: "I loved the second series, so I can’t wait for this. The trailer didn’t disappoint – I like the potentially massive scope of the premise, there’s plenty of action and I really want to know who ‘they’ are. Looks like I’m going to be staying in every night it airs..." Russell Lewin: "I can’t stand Torchwood so this didn’t do much for me. This trailer is all so frightfully serious while at the same time using zombie-fied kids who look like they’ve just come off the Sarah Jane Adventures, and hence ridiculous. The rest of it looks very familiar." Dave Golder: "Again, I'm not a massive Torchwood fan, but I can’t deny the trailer certainly looks cinematic and epic, if typically overwrought. Like Russell, though, I think the kids instantly give it a cheesy, lightweight feel. And doesn't it all feel a bit 'Christmas Invasion'?” Leah Holmes: “No Tosh. Not interested.” |

(And it's not "snogging yet more men", it's the same one man that the character is in a long term relationship with.)

The hint of Spooks from this trailer makes me interested, as that would be a good direction for the show to go in, except with aliens of course.

Really enjoyed Series 2 and Children of Earth looks like it's back to being a more grown up version of Torchwood then the last series. I like how they've taken it out of Cardiff too. Maybe we'll get a hint of the Torchwood team in Scotland.

But, as others have said, it does smell of the Christmas Invasion. Just hope it doesn't live up to this teaser.

This could be the "adult" white-knuckle stuff that the series has always promised but usually fails to deliver.

Was out of the office on Friday otherwise my opinion would have been there as well - I'm looking forward to new Torchwood.
Nobody here's a homophobe I assure you, Mark. Irreverent comments and personal opinions are SFX's hallmark and none of it is meant to offend. In the interests of keeping it strictly on-topic I've edited some of the above post today so we can concentrate on talking about the show's trailer.
Cheers and thanks for your feedback,
Dave

I find your magazine and your personal comments and reviews irreverent.
You used to be such a good magazine but now I would not even wipe my backside with your rag.
shame on you

I've bought this fine mag since issue 1 and never read such rubbish in all that time!
Grow up, get your own life and move on...
... but that fact you're still here suggests you DO read SFX.
Have fun, Mr Bigot!
