The 44 Presidents of Science Fiction

So today's the big day. A new President. A landmark president. President number 44. But, of course, science fiction has given us a few more presidents over the years. Though surprisingly for such a forward-thinking genre, the majority have been male and white. There have been a few women and black men, but can you remember who?

To help you out, here's SFX‘s totally random guide to 44 SF US Presidents from the movies and TV.

Political Career: Oversees a band of secret teen agents.

Sex/race: Male, black
Political Career: With a comet heading towards Earth he instigates the Messiah project to attempt to destroy it. When it succeeds, he must assume another term in office is a cinch.

Film: The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
President: Blake
Played by: Perry King
Sex/race: Male, white
Political Career: Dies, possibly from Hypothermia, when an environmental disaster causes a big freeze in the US.

Film: The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
President: Raymond Becker
Played by: Kenneth Welsh
Sex/race: Male, White
Political Career: Successor to President Blake, who opposed the evacuation of the US in the wake of the big freeze.

Nice, but how could you forget the president in the classic Sci-fi, erm... classic The Fantastic Voyage! I can't remember his name but he was white/Male and a bit chubby.

Also President Jon Serridan from Babylon 5 and the American President who dies in the Doctor who epsidoe The Sound of Drums.

Well, I have mentionjed the last two you listed.

But I restricted the list to 44 for pertinent reasons. Others that could have made the list were the presidents in The Island and Amazon Women In The Moon, and some others

Fogrive me, You are indeed right, you did mention the last two in your list, my mistake. :-) (Show's how quickly reading something doesn't always pay off)

Would you count Troy McCluer from the Simpsons in his made for TV film "The Presidents Neck is Missing!" With a title like that it's bound to be a Sci-Fi flick.
