The New Year is the season for awards shows. The BAFTAs? Not important. The Golden Globes? Pah. The Oscars? Shallow spectacle. The only awards in the galaxy that matter in 2010 are the sparkling SFX Awards. But did you know you can join us, in person, as we hand out our coveted Golden Rayguns to the year’s best and brightest at the SFX Weekender in Camber Sands on Saturday 6 February?

We're not running a Galactic Empire type operation here, these are your awards and voting is already well underway. So if you were that person who loved Transformers 2 or you feel the urge to declare your undying love for Keeley Hawes of Ashes to Ashes make sure your voice is heard.

The SFX Awards 2010 will take place at the SFX Weekender on Saturday 6 February, right after our jam-packed day of panels, screenings and celeb signings. There are 25 - count ‘em - 25 awards to be dished out, 20 of which are decided by you (did we mention you can vote here?) and five very special awards computed by the unfaltering SFX hive mind. It’s the biggest SFX Awards in human history and you can play a huge part in it.

So what are you waiting for? Casting your vote is just a few easy mouse clicks away with our nifty form, but you can nominate anything released between 24 September 2008 and 5 December 2009 for an award. All that’s left to do then is put on your Sunday best and buy a ticket for the SFX Weekender to discover the results.
