What I really like about The Sarah Jane Adventures is how dark they are for kids TV. I'm only a young'un so I grew up with Dark Season and Century Falls which were absolutely the best thing in the world as far as i was concerned. SJA reminds me of that and how fab that a new generation is experiencing the same thing. I also loved The Girl From Tomorrow and Archer's Goon as a kid but that's probably for a completely different discussion...

I rather enjoy the fact that this show isn't kiddy-fied like a fair few other childrens programmes are. It's basically treated as how it should be - more adventures in the Doctor Who universe. (By the way, I'm 31, loved the first series and looking forward to the new series!)

Isn't the Pharos Project where the fourth Doctor regenerated?

The Sarah Jane Adventures are sheer brilliance and exactly the kick up the backside that children's television in the UK needs.

Interesting to see the first episode is called "The Last" given who the monster is. Wonder if everyones favourite spud heads have lost that war of theirs?

Well, The Sontaran Experiment is set in the year 40,000 at least, and they're still fighting then.

However - seeing as how they can reproduce at a rate of million clones a minute, and they reach maturity after 10 minutes - he could well be the sole Sontaran survivor of the war at the point when the story is set and still knock up a fully functioning army by lunchtime. It was implied they were losing to the Rutans in the last appearance.

Another possibility is that he's the sole survivor of the ship seen in the Sontaran Stratagem/The Poison Sky. But that seems somehow less interesting.

I'm gonna KILL the Beeb one of these days.
You see I live in this mystical land called the countryside. You know, that green an pleasent land Britan's supposed to be, when it's not raining that is.
That means we have slow internet connections and we litteraly CANNOT get digital. Not a thing, not even the useless channel 5 NOTHING!
I'm just hopeing that Part 2 is shown on the terrestral channels at some time so I can record it.

Part Two'll turn up on BBC One the week after Part One goes out. If you can't get Freeview, how about Freesat?

Posted by Bob (127.0.0.1) on September 11, 2008 at 01:00 PM BST #

Free-sat in our case involves sticking a great dustbin lid on the side of a victorian house in a conservation area... (in other words we'd have to go to the local council and pay for planning permission for ANY external modifications, can you guess what I do) amitidly it's a little drastic but we'd still have to do it

But no one thinks of that do they, nope.

Well, like I said, Part Two of each story'll turn up on analog BBC 1 the week after Part One. Then there's the BBC iPlayer, if you can get that.

Depending on where you live, you should be able to get Freeview sometime within the next two to four years when the analog signals get turned off and the digital signals get a boost in power and coverage. Not that that's a big help to you now. Otherwise, wait for the DVD, I suppose :(
