Natalie Portman Dances For Aronofsky

Natalie Portman could be putting on the ballet shoes to star in Darren (The Fountain/The Wrestler) Aronofsky’s Black Swan, a supernatural thriller set in the New York Ballet.

Described as being similar to The Others, Black Swan is the story of a ballerina in competition with a bitter rival who may be a spook, or may be just an hallucination.

The film has actually been in development for a couple of years, but with Portman now attached, a script rewrite and the success of Aronofsky’s The Wrester it looks likely a studio will snap up the project soon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But, to be honest, we'd rather Aronofsky just got on with his version of RoboCop – that’s something we'd really like to see.

You'd rather see him remake a film that's already a classic than try and make a film that's vaguely original? And I thought it was Hollywood that was lacking in imagination these days!
