Could Dollhouse Avoid The Axe?
Ratings for the latest episode of Dollhouse in the US last Friday may have taken another fall, but it's not all bad news for the show. Some critics are finally beginning to give the show a cautious thumbs up, and website Airlock Alpha (née SyFy before someone waved some cash their way so they could nick the name) reckons that “ox is looking to give its struggling "Dollhouse" a second season, to see if it can grow some legs on a new night." The site seems to reckon that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is on its last legs, though.

Sky Snaps Up Stargate Universe
Sky One has snapped up the UK first screening rights for Stargate Universe, reports Variety. It is due to start airing in the Autumn. The deal with MGM Worldwide Television Distribution also gives Sky One non-exclusive VOD and download-to-own rights for the entire Stargate catalogue.

Another Oz Updtate
US network NBC is planning a modern day retelling of The Wizard Of Oz, according to Variety. The show, which will be called Dorothy Gale "follows the story of Dorothy, a girl from Kansas who tries to tackle modern-day Manhattan (her version of the Emerald City). Dorothy finds a job in the art world - and must deal with a wicked boss.” The writer will be Bridget Carpenter who has worked on Dead Like Me and Bionic Woman. let’s face it – it can’t be any more tedious than Sci Fi’s Tin Man from 2007.

That’s Magic
Newline has signed up Jake (Orange County) Kasdan to direct Burt Dickenson: The Most Powerful Magician on Planet Earth, the tale of rival magicians told in an Austen Powers/Zoolander style, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Am I seriously the only one to have lost patience with Joss The Feminist "please keep watching and I promise she'll get 'em out by the end of the season!" Whedon?

Saw the Airlock Alpha article. They certainly give some good reasons why Dollhouse should stick around. Just hope the twits at Fox actually listen. Surely somebody must be realising just how much of a fan following firefly had and be worried about doing another firefly. Not that I think it's Firefly worthy... yet. Maybe if they bring in the brilliant Adam Baldwin...
