It’s A Wonderful Shrek

USA Today has published the first pic from the fourth and (allegedly) final Shrek movie, Shrek Forever After, the plot for which sounds more like It's A Wonderful Life.

In the film, which will be 3D, Shrek feels like he’s lost his ogre mojo and so does a deal with Rumplestiltskin, but the pact tiny troublemaker goes awry, and Shrek gets to learn what Far Away Land would have been like if he had never existed.

New characters include two ogre-hunting witches and an underground resistance group led by, “the best looking ogre you’ve ever seen”.

I hope this is better than the dire Shrek the Third. The first was eye-openingly subversive, the second slightly inferior but just sly enough, whilst the third just seemed to miss the point.

BTW, not really SF, but the best animated comedy of recent times? The Emperor's New Groove. I had to be asked to shut up by cinema staff as my laughter was scaring kids!
