Uh-Oh… Just When Things Were Sounding Great For The Fantastic Four Movie
Ah well. And it was all going so well for the Fantastic Four movie…
First, Josh Trank was announced as director, and after the stunning success he made of Chronicle (and especially its final fight scene), this made us very happy indeed.
Then a couple of days ago, Fox announced that Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) would be acting as producer. Good news indeed!
And now… Seth Grahame-Smith has been brought on board to “polish” the script, says The Hollywood Reporter. Ironic, really, since the two most well-known films he’s scripted so far looked like they should have been given a bloody good polish by someone else – Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He was also responsible for the dire “novel” Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, a book which rammed home that old adage, “never judge a book by its cover” – the cover was by far the best thing about it.
Still, Hollywood cinema isn’t a writer’s medium. Let’s hope he doesn’t have too much an influence over this film.
